ODOO.SH VS EASYINSTANCE

Odoo.sh vs EasyInstance: Lower Per-Worker Hosting Rates

Both EasyInstance and Odoo.sh bill usage-based — per worker, per GB of storage. The difference is the rate card: EasyInstance charges less per worker, more per GB (with the first 5 GB free). Here’s exactly what each Odoo host costs and includes.

Quick verdict

  • EasyInstance: $30/worker/mo + $0.80/GB/mo (first 5 GB free). Odoo.sh: $57.6/worker/mo + $0.20/GB/mo, no free storage.
  • For typical instances (moderate storage per worker), EasyInstance comes out cheaper — see the worked examples below.
  • Odoo.sh’s lower per-GB rate means a storage-heavy, worker-light instance can end up cheaper there — we show that crossover honestly below rather than hide it.
  • Odoo.sh has no public self-serve free trial; a 30-day trial requires a partner subscription code. EasyInstance starts every signup with a 10-day free trial, no card required.
  • Odoo’s Enterprise license (~$61/user/month in the US) is billed separately by Odoo S.A. on top of hosting — true whether you host on Odoo.sh, EasyInstance, or anywhere else.

DEPLOY & OPERATIONS

Deploying an Odoo instance, on each host.

Two very different paths to a live Odoo hosting environment.

EasyInstance — click to live

1

Click “New instance.”

2

Pick workers, storage, and region.

3

Live in under 60 seconds — URL, SSL, and backups already configured.

Odoo.sh — Git-based workflow

1

Create a project and connect a GitHub repository.

2

Push a feature branch — a Development server builds automatically.

3

Promote to a Staging branch to test the change with real data.

4

Merge to the production branch (git merge + git push) to deploy.

AI ASSISTANT

Insy vs. Odoo.sh’s AI tooling.

Insy ships free on every EasyInstance instance, no add-on pricing — here’s what it actually does next to what Odoo.sh publishes.

Only on EasyInstance

Insy — included, no add-on pricing

  • Natural language queriesAsk anything about your Odoo data in plain English — Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Accounting, HR, CRM, and your custom addons are all covered, no SQL and no Python.
  • Report printingPrint any report — invoices, payslips, delivery orders — just by naming it, including bulk runs like “print all March payslips.”
  • Live KPI dashboardsBuild a dashboard from a description, refreshed from live data, and shareable via a read-only link — no Odoo login required for viewers.
  • Business insightsTrend analysis and anomaly detection across Sales, Inventory, Accounting, HR, CRM, and custom addons.
  • Workflow automationCreate records, update fields, and trigger approvals from chat — every action is confirmed before it’s applied.
  • MultilingualWorks in English, French, Spanish, Arabic, and 40+ other languages.

Zero setup — Insy is already connected to your Odoo instance the moment you deploy. No API keys, no integration project.

Odoo.sh’s AI tooling

Odoo.sh publishes no comparable natural-language data assistant on its own site — no chat interface for questions, reports, dashboards, or record updates.

What it does offer is SSH access and an Online Editor, both aimed at a developer editing code directly, not a business user asking a question.

If your team wants to ask “what were last month’s top products” without writing a query, that capability doesn’t exist on Odoo.sh today.

Two different audiences — developers get a shell either way, but only one host also gives the rest of the business a way in.
COST AT SCALE

What each host costs, worked out at the same specs.

Computed directly from each host’s own rate card — before the Odoo Enterprise license, which is identical no matter which host you pick.

SpecEasyInstanceOdoo.sh (Shared)
Light — 1 worker, 5 GB$30.00/mo$58.60/mo
Typical — 2 workers, 20 GB$72.00/mo$119.20/mo
Growing team — 4 workers, 50 GB$156.00/mo$240.40/mo
Storage-heavy — 1 worker, 300 GB $266.00/mo$117.60/mo — cheaper here

EasyInstance: $30/worker + $0.80/GB (first 5 GB free). Odoo.sh (Shared, monthly billing): $57.6/worker + $0.20/GB — odoo.sh, checked Aug 2026. Neither column includes Odoo’s Enterprise per-user license (~$61/user/month in the US, odoo.com), which is billed separately by Odoo S.A. and applies on top of hosting from any provider if you use Enterprise edition.

Because EasyInstance’s per-GB rate is 4× Odoo.sh’s, a storage-heavy instance with few workers — large attachments stored in the database, no object-storage offload — can end up cheaper on Odoo.sh, as the last row shows. Most Odoo instances aren’t storage-heavy relative to worker count, so the typical case favors EasyInstance, but check your own storage-per-worker ratio rather than take that on faith.

WHO’S THIS FOR

Who typically looks for an Odoo.sh alternative.

Odoo hosting needs change with team size — here’s roughly what each looks like on EasyInstance’s rate card.

Solo / freelance

Running one or two client instances

Predictable, low-worker setups — 1–2 workers, modest storage — where a lower per-worker rate matters most.

~$30.00/mo at 1 worker, 5 GB
Agency / consultant

Managing Odoo for multiple clients

Staging environments and GitHub auto-sync let you test a module change before it touches a client’s live Odoo instance.

~$156.00/mo at 4 workers, 50 GB
Multi-instance team

HOW SWITCHING WORKS

Moving your Odoo instance off Odoo.sh, in four steps.

The general Odoo backup/restore path for migrating between hosts.

Export & deploy

1

Take a full database and filestore backup from Odoo.sh’s admin panel.

2

Create a new EasyInstance deploy sized to your worker/storage needs.

Test & go live

3

Restore the backup into a staging environment and verify modules and integrations.

4

Point your domain at the new instance; SSL provisions automatically.

These steps describe the general Odoo backup/restore path, not an automated migration tool — contact us if you want help planning a move.

FAQ

Odoo.sh vs EasyInstance, answered.

Does EasyInstance charge per Odoo user, the way Odoo.sh billing works?
No. Neither host charges per Odoo user for hosting. Both bill usage-based: EasyInstance by worker and storage, Odoo.sh by worker, storage, and staging environment. Add as many Odoo users as you like on either.
How do the two rate cards actually compare?
EasyInstance charges $30/worker/month plus $0.80/GB/month (first 5 GB free). Odoo.sh charges $57.6/worker/month plus $0.20/GB/month, no free storage. EasyInstance's worker rate is roughly 48% lower; Odoo.sh's per-GB rate is lower. For most Odoo instances — moderate storage per worker — EasyInstance comes out cheaper overall; a storage-heavy, worker-light instance (large attachments, no S3 offload) can flip that. Source: odoo.sh's own live pricing calculator, checked August 2026.
Does Odoo.sh have a free trial like EasyInstance’s?
Not a public, self-serve one. According to Odoo’s own FAQ, an Odoo.sh trial project requires a partner subscription code, runs for 30 days, and is capped at 1 worker, 2 staging environments, and 1 GB of storage. Every EasyInstance signup starts with a full 10-day free trial and no credit card — 0.5 vCPU, 1GB RAM, 5GB storage.
Does EasyInstance support GitHub-based deploys like Odoo.sh?
Yes — GitHub auto-sync and staging environments are included, no separate add-on. On Odoo.sh, a Git push is the only way to deploy at all: a feature branch builds a Development server automatically, you promote it to a Staging branch to test with real data, then merge to the production branch to go live.
How do backups compare between EasyInstance and Odoo.sh?
EasyInstance takes automated daily backups on every instance. Odoo.sh backs up production instances daily and keeps 14 backups over 3 months (daily for a week, weekly for a month, monthly for three) — but does not back up development or staging builds at all.
Can I change my workers or storage later?
Yes, anytime from your dashboard — drag the same sliders shown on our pricing page. Billing is prorated automatically; no downtime, no support ticket, no long-term contract.

Try it. Free for 10 days.

The fastest way to know if EasyInstance fits your workflow is to deploy an Odoo instance and compare it yourself.
